How to choose and use the sealing ring

If the interface displacement is relatively large, in order to make the interface stress small, should choose low modulus PTFE seal. When the interface is used as part of the load-bearing structure, a high modulus PTFE seal should be selected.

1. surface treatment

In order to improve adhesion, the substrate should be cleaned and dried before bonding to remove dust, grease or other contaminants on the surface of the substrate. When dividing oil, dip in the cloth that has proper solvent to wipe the ground first, reoccupy another clean cloth to wipe.

Note: Do not wash the surface of the substrate with detergent or soap, as residue may affect the bonding effect. To remove surface dust, oil-free compressed air can be used.

2. The test

In order to strengthen the adhesion of PTFE seal to the substrate and ensure the compatibility of PTFE seal with the substrate under various application conditions, testing is very important. The test method should mimic the intended practical application as much as possible.

3. Interface dimensions

In general, the width should be twice the depth. However, it is sometimes necessary to consider local regulations or meet specified sizes.

4. Apps

Operation time must be strictly controlled within the surface time of PTFE seal. Uncured excess PTFE seals can be used with dried or soaked cloth (soaked in a suitable and compatible solvent). Excess TEflon seals have cured and can be removed with remover.
